PDT Fleet Training Solutions have been awarded a further contract with the Department for Education!

We are collaborating with companies now, who are looking to gain access to this funding opportunity, to receive support in developing their HGV driver workforce.

PDT Fleet Training Solutions launched the DfE funded, Skills Bootcamp in HGV Driving in December 2021 as part of the programme to increase the number of professional HGV drivers in England. This month, the scheme has been extended for a further 12 months.

PDT, one of the largest fleet training providers in the UK, has been awarded a further contract with the Department for Education to train further candidates into HGV driving roles across the next 12 months.

PDT’s Director and Founder, Samantha Leleu said: “We’re extremely proud to have been awarded a further contract with the DfE on this programme. This government lead scheme is having a hugely positive impact within the transport and logistics sector in getting new HGV drivers behind the wheel and into HGV driving employment.

Since we launched the first HGV Skills Bootcamp in December 2021, we’ve spoken to thousands of people in England who want to become HGV drivers. Now further funding has been released, we will be able to assist even more aspiring drivers to gain their HGV licence and support into driving employment.

Logistics companies, like all businesses have been hit with exponential increases in operating costs, and therefore having access to government funding to provide businesses with the opportunity to continue to invest in their workforce, creating next generation of HGV drivers has been an essential financial lifeline for the sector.
